Frequently Asked Questions

Q: If you get a second working dog might there be some jealousy (or at least territorial) issues? Would compatibility be part of the selection process?

A: Compatibility is definitely a part of the selection process, but the compatibility is with me. While Shelby is with friends and I am bonding with the new dog, I will be careful to make sure that Shelby's spots are sacred and off limits (the bed -- yes there are advantages to being a graduate, Shelby sleeps on the bed; her bowls; her favorite spot in the family room). That way when Shelby comes home, she will still be alpha and know she still has her place in the family.
